A Trip to The Depot
Valentine's Day Decor Inspiration
Yesterday was a fun day! I always look forward to traveling to Concord, NC to The Depot at Gibson Mills. There are consistently so many treasures to be found there. Beyond the usual gems, I couldn't help but notice that this antique mall is ready for Valentine's Day. I thought I would share a few of the shots I snapped. Although I did not purchase any of these items, they certainly get the mind churning on all the possibilities for Valentine's Day decor and inspired a few ideas that I hope to make a reality in the upcoming weeks.
These crafty banners are eye catching and a nice addition to any mantel or hutch.
A Valentine wreath is always a nice way to celebrate the day.
The kitchen can be a nice place to add a touch of red and pink. These dish towels are the perfect choice.
These stamped paper bags are nice treat bags for the day. Shabby Jen added lace ribbon to each bag.
A good example of just adding red to bring on the spirit of Valentine's day. Hearts and cupids aren't the only way to celebrate the day.
A heart shaped tin with a romantic portrait always sets the mood. Notice the gold hearts along the sides of the box.
I think this idea could be transferred to a paper mache heart box one often sees at the craft stores. A little decoupage anyone?
And now my favorite of the day.
Such a pretty vignette!
And finally, we all remember the pieces and scraps of Christmas fabric tied along a strand of lights. I know I saw many examples on Pinterest this holiday season. Here the same idea is incorporated using Valentine fabric in pinks and reds.
I hope this is as inspiring to you as it was to me. I don't think it's too early to give those creative Valentine's Day crafts some serious mulling over.
