New Year's Eve Vignette
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. We have been very busy! I thought I would share the finished New Year's Eve Lucky Thirteen vignette. This theme is about breaking stereotypes and labels and looking at things in a new way. These pictures were taken at night (tonight to be exact) so the quality is not top notch.... but with a novice photographer like me, this could be said about many of my pictures. By the way, that's a goal I have for Lucky 13 - become a better photographer. Lesson number one needs to be shooting pictures with mirrors in the shot! Life is about learning as you go so I will remember what I tell my daughters; there is no shame in not being where you want to be, only in giving up on the journey.
The silver tree has lucky number 13 placed inside of frame ornaments, numbers painted gold to help count down to the new year, gold beaded garland, and a gold tree topper.
A closer look at the tree.
A paper mache 13 was painted gold and added to the vignette.
A special pocket watch owned by my husband's grandfather was placed in the large lantern. A battery operated candle was placed on a mercury candle holder and gold glittered orbs were added to a silver piece purchased at the flea market.
Auld Lang Syne was added to a silver frame. A clock on an upside down urn was placed inside the glass cloche with a silver stand.
"Happy Lucky 13" in gold lettering was applied to our chalkboard.
Wishing everyone a 2013 filled with love, laughter and luck!
Melinda
