The Refeathered Dress Form
Take Two
I mentioned in a previous post that I just wasn't happy with the dress form that I was revamping for my youngest daughter.
I was happy with the bust where pink music sheets were cut into heart shapes and modge podged to the bust of the form.
But I wasn't happy with the finished product...
...at all. I didn't like the white skirt even though I did like the tutu style. The heart was added with Valentine's Day in mind, but it felt too cutesy for a freshman in high school. No complaints on her part...I was the one dissatisfied. But mainly, it was that mess of a waistband that made it totally impossible for me to be happy with the form. The black rosette ribbon on top of the pink ribbon was just not smooth enough for my taste and looked.... well.... bad.
So the only thing that I kept was the heart shaped adorned bust and the choker style ribbon around the neck.
A pink skirt which was headed for Goodwill since it is now too short was added. Ribbon was attached to the form along with flowers which were also used in the birdcage redo.
(Please forgive the quality of these pictures. It is a dark and wintry day here.)

I think this is a more mature look yet still soft and delicate.
We are still working on her room so I am not quite sure if it will stay beside her armoire with the birdcage on top.
Below is a closer look. The flowers and vines used with the birdcage were repeated on the dress form.
I'm much happier with the dress form now that it has had its second fitting and I think it ties in nicely with the birdcage.
